IMPACT

IMPACT is an intensive, two-week training designed for Christian workers preparing for long-term cross-cultural service (more than one year overseas).

IMPACT combines experiential learning and formal instruction to equip singles, couples, and families to navigate the profound paradox of cross-cultural living.

We believe the best preparation happens in community, and our unique program structure ensures every member of your family is included.

We teach the essential spiritual, personal, interpersonal, and cultural skills required for both the enjoyment and the endurance challenge of missionary life.

When Should I Attend?

When you choose to attend our programs is very important. We strongly recommend you attend IMPACT at least 2-3 months before your anticipated departure for your cross-cultural ministry. We have found that missionaries who attend closer to their departure date are often in a chaotic part of transition which makes it difficult to engage mentally and emotionally in relationships and learning.

Whole-Family Training

We believe in whole-family training because we know that moving and living cross-culturally affects every member—including children!

Children in Transition

When children struggle to adjust, it impacts their development and health, it impacts parents health and ability to cope, it impacts ministry, and it can ultimately affect a family's ability to stay and serve effectively long-term.

Our Commitment

That is why IMPACT is designed to welcome children of all ages—from babies and toddlers all the way up to and including teenagers.

We provide
  • Concurrent Learning: While parents attend the Adult Program learning cross-cultural strategies and tools for health and resilience, their children and teens are in a parallel program.
  • Specialized Curriculum: Children receive specially designed curriculum and activities developed for Missionary Kids that teaches them the same crucial tools at their age-appropriate learning level.
